Happy Swedes enjoying Midsummer
|
This year our Midsummer Fest is graciously being held at our
Chairman's country home in Petaluma, CA. Everyone interested in
Swedish and Scandinavian culture is welcome. We invite other
Scandinavian organizations and it usually turns out to be well over 100
people with Scandinavian dancing and music.
It will be held on June 13th starting at 11 am with the decorating of the
maypole or midsommar stangen. Please bring greeneries and flowers to
contribute if you like. It is held at Lorentz and Bonnie Koagedal’s home at
442 Marshall Avenue in Petaluma.
The location is on a 2.5 acre parcel with lots of lawns and shade as well
as a small swimming pool for kids to enjoy. Remember to bring bathing
suits, towels and sunscreen. There is plenty of parking in the field next to
our small vineyard. Everyone is welcome and there is no fee but we ask
everyone to bring a favorite dish, salad or desert to share. The
smorgasbord always turns out to great with lots of traditional Swedish
dishes. Bring your own plates and silverware.
Award winning home made wine from Lorentz small family winery on the
property will be served free of charge. Other non-alcoholic beverages will
also be served.
This is a good time so don't miss it. Please RSVP to Lorentz and Bonnie
Koagedal at koagedal@comcast.net or call 707-763-7728. Thank you
very much for your reply. Glad Misommar till alla!
Come Join us for Midsummer Fest!
